The building is over two hundred years old. The extended family of the Georgians who came to live there, six brothers and two sisters, ended up spreading in the neighbourhood. Both their street and house was then named ‘Gorji’, meaning, simply, Georgian.
The grand house has gone through various upgrades but eventually has become dilapidated. The last elder of the family is Ozra khanom who lives there now, but is worried that the next generation do not desire to live there and it will be lost.
